I got to hang out with my favorite mascot Pouncer on Oct. 6 at Discover Your Major Day at the University of Memphis.
He’ll make a fine journalism student. He already possesses excellent PR skills.
To celebrate the University of Memphis’ Centennial in 2012, the Alumni Association will place 100 life-size Tiger statues all around town, with each statue being uniquely decorated with artwork by local artists, students and alumni. The goal of Tigers Around Town is to not only recognize the Centennial of the University of Memphis, but to impressively illustrate the city’s rich history and relationship with the U of M.
The Tigers have already made their way to campus, including this Elvis-inspired version I photographed yesterday. The formal unveiling of the Tigers Around Town project is noon on Sept. 10.
